Rick Walker is awaiting a response from Emerald Bay Marina on his latest proposal on Emerald Bay Marina assets.
New Business:
New Marina Updates
Expected completion date of the marina addition at Lake Palestine Marina is around the first of June. Electrical work is being contracted and it was noted that the water provided would not be potable due to lake regulations. Lake Palestine Marina plans to have an event on Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate it.
The owner of Lake Palestine Marina asked if it would be possible to place a home of the Lake Palestine Yacht Club at the premises. Rick Walker proposed a motion to allow a sign, and a flag on the crane. John Owens approved the motion, Steve Lowe seconded it. John Owens, Steve Lowe, Warren Lyons, and Lynn Easley voted for it, Bob Pryor voted against, and Rick Walker abstained. Motion was passed.
Member Due and Statements
John Springer will be sending out invoices with recently lowered dues of $200.00 a year due to suspending collection of the capital fund.
Steve Lowe proposed a motion to add a telephone number for the yacht club using a service like Magic Jack that could forward the phone to a voice mail box and transcribe it to email. John Owens approved the motion, Bob Pryor seconded it. None opposed, motion passed. Steve Lowe will look into it.
Sea Scouts Inquiry
A chapter of the Sea Scouts inquired about a joint activity between the club and their chapter perhaps doing a sail on Lake Palestine. Rick Walker will check into what requirements needed to be met to allow it.
