ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: Rick Walker, John Springer, Ben and Laura Hooks, Ashley Tackett, Nat and Elizabeth Hart, Dana Adams and Sherry Adams, Steve and Kathy Haas, Mark and Susan Bartlett, and Lynn Easley.
Call to order by Rick Walker
Approval of Minutes From Last Annual Meeting:
Lynn Easley presented minutes from the last annual meeting. The minutes were approved with a motion to accept by John Springer, and seconded by Ben Hooks.
Reports of Officers:
Rick Walker
Delved into the history of the club for the newer members. Listed the founding members of the reconstituted Lake Palestine Yacht Club and past Commodores of the club. Reviewed membership levels of the past years and some of the events that affected those levels. Some of the events were the extreme low level of the lake during a drought that left some boats aground. The selling of the Emerald Bay Marina and relocation to Lake Palestine Marina.
John Springer
Presented the Treasury’s Report with the current cash balance at $15,724.09. The treasury report was accepted by acclimation. John Springer also presented the 2022 projected budget.
Ashley Tackett
Presented a list of activities planned for the 2022 calendar year and will also assume admin duties for the Facebook page.
Reports of Committees:
No active committees at this time.
Election of Directors and Officers
No nominations were received from the members for the three director positions of Rick Walker, Steve Lowe, and Rich Munson that were up for election. The candidates for those positions were Rick Walker, Ashley Tackett, and Nat Hart. By a voice vote with no objections, all three candidates were elected.
Two interim director positions will be filled by Steve Lowe, and Rich Munson.
For the year 2022 term, the board recommend officers will be Rick Walker – Commodore, Ben Hooks – Vice Commodore, John Springer - Treasurer, and Lynn Easley – Secretary. The officers for 2022 were approved by voice vote with no objections.
For the 2023 year, two directors positions will be up for election.

Closing Statement from Rick Walker
Rick Walker stressed the importance of members being active and supporting the club. As in most clubs, a small subset of the members are responsible to most of the activity. Having active members is important to the livelihood of a club, and encouraged members to take an active role.

The next monthly meeting is scheduled for February 12 at 11:00 at Smoke Monkey.
