Officer and Director Reports.
Ashley Tackett – Suggested reaching out to other local clubs such as Tyler Yacht Club and the Parrot Head Club for joint social or other events.
Will also reach out to Ross Hayes to see what his calendar is for a meteorological presentation. Some evening around the September time frame would probably be best for the club as activities are starting back up after summer.
Old Business
Slip Waiting List:
Ashley Tackett.
Mast Hoist:
One more attempt will be made with a chain wrench to break it free to swivel. It is hoped a better angle, and pounding on the crane with a hammer might help. An attempt will made on the afternoon of Friday July 16. That failing, one ex-member of the club does welding, and might get his input on possible solutions. The next step would proceed with the previous idea of building an external attachment and attaching it to the non-swiveling mast.
New Business
July 4th Celebration for Next Year:
It was suggest by Steve Lowe and Ashley Tackett that for next years July 4th fireworks display acquire a viewing spot for the fireworks. One suggestions were to rent one of the rooms at the Emerald Bay Community Center, which would not likely be available to rent. The second option would be a tent on the point of land in which to view the fireworks. Emerald Bay currently has two different firework displays, although there is some discussion of combining them into one event.
Date and Time of Next Meeting:
The next monthly meeting is currently scheduled for August 11th at noon at Texas Music City.
Adjournment:
Motion to adjourn by Steve Lowe, seconded by John Springer.
